What is counseling? Why is it important?
Who needs counseling? How can you tell if you need counseling
These and other questions are asked daily by many people. I am sure that at some
time you have wondered these very questions in your mind.
Welcome to our Christian Counseling web site. TEMPLE OF FAITH is a new
congregation committed to the restoration people’s lives.
I am convinced that the mission of the local church is not only to preach the
Word of Faith from the Bible, but also to heal and restore the lives of those
who live with emotional and spiritual burdens in their lives, with the primary
goal helping them live free and victorious in every aspect of their lives.
In luke 4:18-20, Jesus said, “The spirit of the Lord is upon me, for He has
anointed me to bring the good news to the poor; He has sent me to proclaim
liberty to the captives and sight to the blind, to set free those who suffer and
to proclaim the agreeable year of the Lord.”
- Today that has been fulfilled in our hearing.
In the Bible we also find the following: Bear each other’s burdens and in this
way you fulfill the law of Christ.
When Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross at calvary, He paid the price for
all our difficulties, including our emotional and spiritual problems. That is
why at TEMPLE OF FAITH we have established a counseling ministry to help people
who maybe just need to let go of a burden, or just need someone to listen to
them because they do not see the light at the end of the tunnel of their
problems. Maybe you have a difficulty that requires someone to guide you to an
appropriate solution. That is the fundamental reason that God has established
TEMPLE OF FAITH. That is the reason why we have created this web site. You can
depend on a team of Christian counselors who are eager to help you with you
situation, as difficult as it may seem.
What is counseling? We define it as providing counsel; appropriate direction in
a situation with problems.
Why is counseling important? Christian counseling is important because the
person with a problem receives divine direction by way of the scriptures.
In Exodus 18:19 we find the following: “Now listen to me, and let me give you a
word of advice, and may God be with you. You should continue to be the people’s
representative before God, bringing their disputes to him.” What we are being
told in this passage is that Christian counseling has an advantage over secular
psychology. In Christian counseling there is first the Holy Spirit, then the
Counselor and then the counseled. Together they will find the solution to the
problem of the counselee.
Who needs counseling? Many believe that counseling is only for people who have
serious emotional problems like schizophrenia, hypocondria, depression, etc.
Who needs counseling? The truth is that everyone at certain times needs someone
to give them counsel. Are you thinking of marriage and want it to be successful?
Do you feel depressed? Do you have matrimonial problems, like jealousy fighting
or infidelity? Do you have problems with addictions? Personal conflicts?
Relationship problems with others? Painful memories from the past? Financial
problems? Spiritual problems and doctrinal conflicts? Phobias or doubts? Fear or
insecurity? Personal management? Alcoholism? Thinking of suicide? Confused
sexual identity?
Whatever your problem is, God has the answer for you. All you need is the
willingness to make your situation better. At TEMPLE OF FAITH, we have the
willingness to help you.
